Futurist is a gluten free beer that packs a punch! Expect aromas of grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruits and pine along with subtle orange flavours. A hint of vanilla sweetness rounds out a soft, moreish mouthfeel.

East or West? In the name of experimentation we have created a version of each style, brewed with the same quantities of Loral, Citra, Summit, Chinook and Zeus hops, but using different yeast for each. Our East Coast version brings a typical haze for the style with juicy hops, low-bitterness and a smooth, soft finish. Our West Coast version pours brighter with a pronounced and assertive bitterness as well as notes of citrus and pine.

After three months and 37 different experiments, this stout has what we consider to be the perfect ratio of peanut butter, lactose and biscuit. A hit of roasted peanut on the nose, followed by a sweet CRUNCH as it goes down.

Peaches and cider is nothing new, but there’s always room for improvement. The ethos of Ascension is to try and let every element of the blend shine through and I think we nailed it. Wild Cider, sweet juice and some amazing peaches combined to make a summer smasher that sells out super fast every year.

A refreshing citrus forward gose. Orange juice and peel bring a distinct citrus flavour and aroma to the kettle sour base. Meyer lemon and mandarin, adds a sweet tang with a subtle bergamot herbal spice and fragrance which is emphasised by the additions of coriander seed and sea salt.

In Viridis we pair sweet raspberry with tart rhubarb to create an exceptionally refreshing beer. We marry this pairing with a strong, oat heavy base, which we then sour with Lactobacillus. The aroma in viridis is palpable, and bursts from the glass. An intensely fruited and thick body await, with the rhubarb and raspberry bringing a perfectly balanced experience throughout.

We put together an A-Team of Simcoe, Citra and Galaxy with our super fruity house yeast strain to make a classic New England IPA – just a hint of bitterness, and a balance of sharper citrus fruits to stop the tropical aroma being too sweet. Malt: Extra Pale, Wheat, Caramalt, Flaked Barley, Oats Hops: Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe (or Nelson Sauvin) Yeast: London Ale III

Steady Rolling Man. Our pale ale. Inspired by the ridiculously tasty hoppy beers we fell for, we got brewing our own versions, over and over again, while listening to the blues greats. The heady concoction of old-time blues records and juicy American hops transfixed us from the start and the rolling man was born in these sessions! Incredibly soft and delicate with intense tropical fruit hop aromatics and saturation, this is our vision of the perfect pale ale.

Without Headband it’s possible that there would be no Verdant! We had our Lightbulb moment with, well, Lightbulb extra pale ale. However, it was Headband pale ale that secured us our first customer - and the beer has undoubtedly proved inspirational to each and every one of our beers ever since. After peaking the interest of the staff at Small Bar Bristol with some homebrew bottles, we knew that we wanted to set up a brewery. We rented a shipping container purely off the promise that Small Bar would buy some of our beer if we ever went pro. While navigating a measly 20ft of space, we set about developing a range of beers that reflected both our love of sessionable cask beer and hazy New England-style beers. Headband falls right in-between those two camps: it takes the full-bodied juiciness of a New England offering, but also possesses the lower ABV that makes it possible to deem it “sessionable”.

Lightbulb may well be our most fitting beer name. Originally, its title referenced how our head brewer James described the colour he wanted the finished beer to be – the shade of a 100w light bulb to be precise. Now we’re increasingly aware that Lightbulb may well be the beer that literally keeps the lights on. Over our short lifespan, Lightbulb has ironically been responsible for some of our darker moments. Lightbulb’s recipe is the one we have wrestled with the most, and many brewers will tell you it’s the simpler recipes that are hardest to perfect. The extra pale ale (XPA) has been a part of our core range since the very beginning. However, it was Headband’s recipe that was dialled in much quicker. Headband is a session version of our bigger beers – overripe tropical fruit, a rich mouthfeel and a quick, smooth finish.

A massively refreshing 4.8% Azacca and Mosaic hopped pale with enduring flavours of ripe mango, citrus fruit, and reviving pine notes. A hefty Nelson Sauvin addition turns up the sun with juicy gooseberry and grape notes. Perfect post-garden Grand Prix refreshment.

Putty was originally conceived as a special beer to serve to people at the inaugural Hop City festival back in 2017. We wanted to take something that would stand shoulder to shoulder with the big boys and girls in the hazy world. Our head brewer James was desperate to build the perfect NEDIPA: “I could see the likes of Trillium, The Veil, Other Half and Treehouse causing a stir stateside and I was imagining what their beers must taste like. I wanted it to have a glowing golden colour and be centred around Galaxy hops that we had just managed to get a hold of for the first time. I wanted it to be massively dry hopped and hot side saturated, weighty but really really drinkable.Basically exciting! Mosaic seemed like a no-brainer as a companion to the Galaxy, and we also had it available! Azacca just seemed like the perfect fit to elevate the whole package.”
